Professional Experience
Mrs. Jacqueline Geddes has 24 years progressive experience in the industry, twenty of which were spent with Shell International Petroleum Company in various international locations, primarily in Information Technology and Information Systems. Mrs. Geddes has been providing Consulting services for the past 4 years to the Financial, Government and Service sectors.
Mrs. Geddes has proven experience in managing all aspects of the Information Systems function, and for an 11 year period she was the Information Systems Manager at Shell Co W.I. Ltd. (Jamaica). During this period, she was heavily involved in Quality management and Business Process Re-engineering projects and was Project Manager for the JD Edwards implementation from 1999-2000.
She then accepted a Regional role in the Dominican Republic implementing Management Information Systems in Shell Caribbean and Central America (CCA). She went on to work in Shell International Petroleum Company for 3 years rolling out Business Intelligence globally, utilizing Data Warehouses, Cognos and Business Objects Reporting tools.
Relevant experience includes:
Programme Management Consultant – NCB Insurance Company Core Software replacement project implementing Sungard Software Navigator – sales force enablement, and EPS – asset management automation.
Business Analyst and Project Manager – Consultant with NCB Insurance Company Ltd for the re-engineering of all their core processes. Utilized Proforma-Provision process mapping tool.
Business Intelligence - Consultant with Guardian Life Ltd developing and deploying a Business Intelligence solution for management using QLIKVIEW an OLAP tool.
Business Intelligence Shell Caribbean and CentralAmerica based in the Dominican Republic – Rolled out Business intelligence systems to 18 companies in the Caribbean and Central American region as part of a four member project team. Led the implementations in Guyana, Belize, Bermuda, Barbados and Jamaica, through project kick off, data preparation, system set up, testing, training and cut over.
Project management for Management Information Systems implementation in Shell International, Shell Centre, London SE1 7NA, United Kingdom
Rolled out Shell’s Management Information System globally to LPG, Aviation and HSE Operating Units through initial project presentation to management, determining user requirements, assisting operating units with data collection and preparation, technical development, testing/training/reviewing, setting up and monitoring automated operations, providing monthly progress reports and Steering Committee Meetings.
Business Process Re-engineering Shell Jamaica — This assignment focused on revising the Business Processes within the organisation, according to best practice, in preparation for the implementation of JD Edwards. This project resulted in the creation of a Customer Service Division and the streamlining of Sales and Marketing.
JD Edwards Financial, Customer Service and Logistics system implementation Served as a Project Manager for the implementation of the financial, customer service and logistics system. This project resulted in the integration of Information technology of all Shell companies in Latin America and the Caribbean on one single AS400 platform, located in the Netherlands. Connection was via satellite technology.
IT Strategic Planning — Coordinated the Information Technology (IT) planning process and wrote the IT plan for the Shell Company (W.I) Ltd. This IT planning process was heavily based on the Company’s Strategic plan and input from all levels of management. Several gaps in the provision of management information were identified, resulting in an Implementation plan of several projects.
Order Processing and Lubricants Blending System — Led the implementation of this system in Shell Jamaica migrating from a manual operations hence significantly increasing the efficiency of the Orders Desk and the Plant.
New Product Launch - Financial Planning Services Project – Provided Project Coordination and Business Analyst Consulting to Jamaica Money Market Brokers resulting in the success launch of ‘The Plan’, a financial planning product.
Mrs.Geddes is a part-time lecturer with Boston University Evening Institute providing Project Management training. She holds a BSc from the University of the West Indies, an MSc from London School of Economics and is a Project Management Professional (PMP) with the PMI. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration with the University of Phoenix.
