Biography - JA Geddes

                                                   Jacqueline Geddes MSc, PMP

Jacqueline Andrea Marie Geddes was born in the island of Jamaica. She was brought up in a middle class Jamaican family. My father (now deceased) was a Head Teacher and elder of the Brethren church we attended as a family. His parents (my grandparents) and 7 of his eight siblings were all educators and so education was always emphasized in her home.

She attended the University of the West Indies – Mona Campus Jamaica and completed her first degree - a BSc in Computing and Mathematics. She then worked for approximately 1 year at the National Housing Trust as a programmer. She went on to do her Masters degree in Analysis, Design and Management of Information Systems at the London School of Economics LSE. She left LSE in 1983 and joined Shell Company in Jamaica. She was fortunate to start her recruitment process with Shell from the UK and went on to work with them for 20 years. She worked for the Shell Co. W.I. Ltd in Jamaica for over 15 years as the Information Technology (IT) Manager. During this time She was involved with implementing their core IT Finance systems and rolling out various software packages including Human resources, Order Processing, Payroll and numerous other systems. She managed the implementation of their PC Local Area Network and was fully responsible for training, strategic planning and operational activities.

Towards the end of her career in Shell Jamaica, she was Leader for the Business Process Re-engineering Project and Project Manager for the JD Edwards software implementation, a project involving 15 persons and spanning 14 months. Her last 4 years in Shell (Dominican Republic and then London) was primarily rolling Business Intelligence to the Caribbean and then Globally in Shell Centre - UK.

She returned to Kingston, Jamaica in 2004 and started her own Consulting firm, JA Geddes & Associates. During this time she consulted with several Financial institutions rolling out various Business solutions. She is an accredited Project Management Professional (PMP) with the Project Management Institute www.pmi.org. She is also the Jamaica representative for Dr. John Maxwell's EQUIP programme.

She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration at the University of Phoenix in Leadership. She is a leader in her church, New Covenant Ministries International. She is married to Colin and they have 2 children, Cymone and Brandon.
